English College Madness- ECP's first pc game

Welcome to crap, but English College game that we “proudly” present. It is a 2D game consisting of three levels. Nothing special, nevertheless we hope that it will entertain you.

We decided to create the game using Game Maker. Not because it is the easiest and least time consuming tool for making pc-games. But, because it also enables us to distribute the game in an editable file; so that any one can modify and improve the game according to his/her taste, regardless whether they are skilled programmers or not.

English College Madness! v1.0
Welcome to the worst software night-mare that world has ever seen, nevertheless it is the work of the English College, so be proud of it!

The game is split into three levels. The purpose is to collect as much points as possible.

• Level 1; you are located inside a play-room with three monsters, which are pursuing you everywhere you go. And you are in danger of exploding in case that they will catch you.
  What you need to do is; lead those monsters towards one of the mines (explosives) which are also located inside the play-room. If you will succeed in doing so, then you will progress into Level 2!



• Level 2; is basically a platform-game where you have to jump around, avoid collision with bugs, collect mushrooms and try to reach the "FINISH" sign and proceed to Level 3. You can kill some of the bugs by jumping on their head + there is a "pleasant" surprise awaiting you inside the level.



• Level 3; you are flying in a space ship, trying to shoot down your enemies a trying to avoid collision with your enemies and their shots.

Controls:

• Move using - Arrows


• Jump using - Arrow Up


• Shoot using - Spacebar


• Save Game - F5


• Load (saved) Game - F6

FAQ:

• 1. May I distribute the game?
  - The game is for distribution within the English College. Its distribution outside the ECP through internet or CD-ROM is permitted.



• 2. May I re-program the game?
  - Yes you can, as long as you make it available for everyone else at the ECP and as long as it is not offensive or otherwise inappropriate. We provide you with an englcoll.gm6 editable file (this game file) that you may edit using Game Maker that you need to download from http://www.gamemaker.nl.



• 3. Why did you make the game using "amateur" Game-Maker?
  - There was no one in the Student Council who was able to do the programming, e.g. in Visual Basic and we did not have time to recruit a team of people who possessed these skills. So, we decided to do it in Game Maker; fast and simple solution + Game Maker enabled us to distribute the game in gm6 editable file that every one can modify easily according to his desire (but he/she needs to download Game Maker @ http://www.gamemaker.nl).



• 4. Don't you think that game is rather bizarre or crap?
  - Yes it is, but we like it the way it is. You can re-edit it according to your taste, if you don't like it and if you wish to do so.
