Student Council Treasurer Report

Treasurer Report: Student Council has ended up with a 26510 CZK net profit for year 2004/05 (this includes the last Barbeque), 20000 of the last year’s net profit were donated to Adopted Children in India and Uganda, the opening cash-flow available for 2005/06 projects is 6510 CZK.

Special thanks to last year's SC Team lead by Iveta Nováková for stable opearating with the money, and Anh Do Hai (Anja) for making up of the report.

6th Meeting, 10th October 2005

• Treasurer report: Anh Do Hai is working very hard on this one; we are expected to have our annual year financial report available by next week.



• Meetings: We have agreed that there will be a second regular but voluntary Student Council meeting on Friday during Break Time.



• E.C.P website: We are working very actively on this issue that is why we are preparing a questionnaire about the Student Supportive website (syllabuses, deadlines, etc.) and another questionnaire about the online version of our school yearbook.



• Keyboards: SC will participate on the financing of the purchase of new keyboards into the library, at this phase we are making a list of the badly functioning keyboards as well as selecting the best alternative in terms of quality and price.



• Table Soccer: We have started discussing the possible ways of creating a collection for this one. There is a suggestion to finance it by organising a special event such as “Christmas Fair After-party”. We have as well selected an appropriate location which wouldn’t disturb anyone and that could prevent skipping of lessons, so that we can persuade the school about it.



• Charity: Each year we are obliged to donate some proportion of the SC money to charity projects, this year we will be supporting the construction of a school in Afghanistan, in order to support the development of Afghan education which is experiencing low literacy and we feel determined to change this, because we share the idea that everyone deserves his chance for a happy life.

Dear fellowman,

7th October 2005 will undoubtably be recorded as one of my very beautiful days. It will, as well, be a day of a given promise, strong determination and responsibility which will be needed for the next 8 months.

Although I have invested lots of effort into succeeding, this couldn't have been achieved without your strong support, either in the form of your votes or your sympathies which will be the key factors for the fulfilling of the program and your desires.

I would like to assure all, icluding those who did not give me their votes that I will do my best at this function, therefore all opinions will be equally precious to me.

Finally, I would like to thank all those who have contributed to my election campaign and helped me in distributing the posters.

Student Council Meeting Minutes

5th Meeting, 3rd October 2005

• Barbecue: We have already agreed about who is going to do what, and now we are undergoing the process of preparations for the St. Wenceslas Barbecue which will take place on 7th October and where the new SC President will be announced.




• Elections: Each tutor will receive a specially designed ballot, on which he is going to record the number of votes for each of the candidates from his tutor group, these are then going to be collected in, and will be counted. The counting of the votes will be conducted by Mrs. Alena Švejdová and our respectful leader Iveta Nováková. The winner is then going to be announced at the Barbecue. – Special thanks belong to Jan Milík who is going to design these ballots




• Year 5 Cake Sale: We are pleased to announce that next week on Thursday, 13th October at 10:25 during Break Time, there will be a Year 5 Cake Sale held in the Refectory. (NOTE: their last year’s Cake Sale was very good, so do not miss the opportunity to come!)




• SC Bulletin Board: We have a newly designed SC Bulletin Board, have a look at it! You will find there all the necessary information regarding the Student Council (SC Minutes, Treasurer Report, etc.)




• Visit: We are expecting a precious visit from the Člověk v Tísni foundation, further information will be provided to you soon.




• Sports: Considering the fact that there are an increasing number of people wishing to play other sports than football, we are forced to make precautions that would satisfy everyone. We are also working on more frequent opening of the gym during Lunch time.
